A workshop on "Proactive Disclosure of Information on Websites" of government departments was arranged by Punjab Resource Management Program – PRMP on November 12-13, 2015. Addressing the sessions, Information Commissioner, Mr. Mukhtar Ahmad Ali highlighted government’s commitment towards disclosure of information for citizens in line with Right to Information Act – 2013. He particularly emphasized the importance of maintenance and updation of websites of the government departments.
Information Commissioner further added that Government of Punjab is committed to assist and facilitate government organizations for development of their websites and for pro-active disclosure of information by providing them with required technical assistance. This was further supplemented by the comments of Mr. Ali Jalal, Deputy Program Director, PRMP and Ms. Sehyr Anis, Deputy Program Director, PRMP. The event concluded after interactive discussions between the panelists and the participants on the issues faced by the departments regarding maintenance of websites.
