Short Training Course ON “Public Sector Financial Management” at LUMS

A four days training course from 30th January to 2nd February 2017 on “Public Sector Financial Management” was organized by Punjab Resource Management Program (PRMP) in collaboration with Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) at its Rausing Executive Development Centre (REDC). The training batch was consisted of 34 officers from different departments, companies and authorities. These included Finance Department, S&GAD, C&W Department, Planning & Development Department, LG&CDD, Health Department, PITB, MPDD, Lahore High Court, Women Development Department, School Education Department, Social Welfare Department, Lahore Transport Company, Infrastructure Development Authority, Punjab, LWMC, Punjab Food Authority, Punjab Safe Cities Authority etc. The training included lectures, presentations, class assignments, group work and interactive sessions. The participants appreciated the efforts of PRMP, P&D Department for organizing an informative training course and desired that these short training courses may be continued from PRMP’s platform for capacity building of the officers.

The certificates for completion of course were distributed by Mr. Iftikhar Saleem Bhatti, Deputy Program Director, PRMP along-with Dr. Ayesha Bhatti, Program Director from LUMS. DPD, PRMP informed the participants that it was the 5th short training course organized by PRMP at LUMS. Three courses were conducted on Procurement Management, one on Project Management and one on Financial Management. The purpose of this training was to enhance the capacities of the officers in managing finances in their respective departments.
