A one week training course from 19th-23rd December, 2016 on “Public Sector Procurement Management” was conducted at LUMS. The training program was organized by the Punjab Resource Management Program (PRMP) Planning & Development Department, Punjab in collaboration with Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS). The training batch was consisted of 20 Punjab Government officers from different departments including Planning & Development Department, The Urban Unit, Primary & Secondary Health Care Dpt., Punjab Information Technology Board, Southern Punjab Poverty Alleviation Project, Punjab Saaf Pani Company, Lahore Waste Management Company, Lahore High Court, etc The training included Lectures, presentations, class assignments, group activities and interactive sessions. The participants appreciated the efforts of (PRMP) for designing & organizing an informative training course and opened that this exercise may be embedded as a permanent feature of P&D Department in its effort to improve skills of key human resource of the province in key important areas.
The certificate for completion of training course were distributed by Mr. Iftikhar Saleem Bhatti, Deputy Program Director, Punjab Resource Management Program (PRMP) who informed the participants that PRMP, P&D had already planned a series of such training courses in different fields which would be held at LUMS at regular intervals. The purpose of this training on Procurement Management is to enhance and build the capacities of government officers who are working on different assignments. The participants have been shortlisted from different departments and is the combination of officers with varied experience and expertise. He hoped that the officers have learnt new techniques and methods in the field of Procurement Management which will further help them in their practical field and building the capacity of their staff in relative departments.
