The Planning & Development Punjab Resource Management Programme (PRMP) arranged a two-day workshop titled “Proactive Disclosure of Information on websites of government departments” at P&D Complex, Lahore.
Government officials relating to provincial administrative departments including focal persons, public information officers, Deputy Programme Directors PRMP Ali Jalal, Sehar Anis and Assistant Directors Hassan Tariq and Humair Anwar participated in the workshop.
Addressing the session, Information Commissioner, Punjab Information Commission Mukhtar Ahmad Ali said that Punjab Government was committed to assist and facilitate government organizations for the development of their websites and for pro-active disclosure of information by providing them with required technical assistance.
He highlighted government’s commitment towards disclosure of information for citizens in line with Right to Information Act – 2013. Information Commissioner Mukhtar Ahmad Ali particularly emphasized the importance of maintenance and updation of websites of the government departments. This was further supplemented by the comments of Ali Jalal, Deputy Program Director, PRMP and Sehyr Anis, Deputy Program Director, PRMP.
During the workshop, the discussion also took place on the issues faced by the government departments regarding maintenance of websites and the event was concluded after an interactive discussion between the panelists and the participants. Read More...
