Short Training Course on “Public Sector Procurement Management”

 A second batch of four days training program from 23rd May 2016 to 26th May 2016 on “Public Sector Procurement Management” was organized by Punjab Resource Management Program (PRMP) in collaboration with Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) at its Rausing Executive Development Centre (REDC).

The second batch was consisted of 25 Participants (22 Govt. Officers & 3 Private Contractors). The batch was much diversified in terms of years of experience, expertise/ skills and departments. After the completion of first training course there was a slight change in training module based on the feedback given by the trainees of first batch.

While addressing the inaugural session MD, PPRA, Mr. Ali Bahadur Qazi highlighted the importance of PPRA rules and procedures and explained that a procuring agency, while making any procurement, shall ensure that the procurement is made in a fair and transparent manner, the object of procurement brings value for money to the procuring agency and the procurement process is efficient and economical. He mentioned that PPRA had introduced latest amendments in procurement rules/procedures in 2016 and this training course would create awareness about the latest procurement rules/procedures. The guest speakers have also been invited during four days for sharing of their practical experiences with the participants on procurement.

At the end of the training evaluation performas were filled by the participants. The overall feedback from the participants has been excellent. Everyone has commended the efforts of PRMP, P&DD, Punjab for organizing this kind of a training course in one of the best rated institute of Pakistan.

Mr. Iftikhar Saleem Bhatti, Deputy Program Director, PRMP, distributed the certificates among the participants. He expressed his thanks to participants on behalf of P&D department, Punjab and said that the participant’s attendance, interaction and overall atmosphere during four days has been excellent. He also appreciated the efforts of LUMS faculty for conducting the course in tremendous manner. He mentioned that the next training course on same topic will be of 10 days and will commence after Ramadan.
